On St Georges Day, 23rd April 2009. The military bomb disposal community will be conducting a number of challenge events to raise money for the children of WO2 Gaz O'Donnell GM+ who was sadly killed in action in Afghanistan in September last year. The bomb disposal teams are raising money through sponsorship and donations.
The day will consist of two challenge events.
First each team will pull a bomb disposal truck over a one mile distance on the Abingdon airfield main runway.
Second each team will take it in turn pulling an even heavier truck from Abingdon to the home of 11 EOD Regt RLC at Vauxhall Barrcks, Didcot. The route will pass through Drayton, Milton and Milton Park before moving on to the Broadway, Didcot. Please click on the map image for a more detailed view of the timings and route.
